* Members must receive treatment from a network dentist; otherwise, services are not covered.

** Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan uses the DenteMax network for its dental plans. DenteMax is an independent company that provides a network of PPO dentists to Blue members.



Blue Dental and DenteMax

  • DenteMax network dentists submit claims on members' behalf
  • Network dentists cannot "balance bill" members
  • When members see a DenteMax dentist, their cost share is lower
  • Members receive discounts for non-covered services
  • DenteMax negotiated fees are:
    • 10 percent to 20 percent below Blue Traditional ® fees
    • 20 percent to 40 percent below average charge
    • Provider quality monitored by an NCQA-accredited credentialing verification organization
