Job Summary:
Performs a variety of clerical duties that requires a wide range of knowledge in standardized work routines. Date stamps, sorts, counts, classifies and controls incoming work/mail. Maintains control of stock inventory system, maintains departmental files, handles requests for copies. Codes inquiries and inputs control information via the PC, into the Inquiry Control System.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Date stamps, analyzes, sorts and codes mail for the corporation and/or department. Batches, counts, logs and routes mail according to established procedures and standing instructions. Accesses PC displays, as necessary, to secure information on incoming inquiries. Completes input forms for membership-related adjustments.
  • Assembles files, kits and materials and assembles and distributes expensing materials.
  • Transmits and receives documents via the facsimile unit communications network and performs back-up on any systems maintenance functions.
  • Enters inquiry control information into the PC, using both formatted and unformatted screen displays.
  • Monitors ICS input for accuracy and completeness of information. Performs edit checks on inaccurate data fields. Modifies data fields as appropriate and closes completed inquiries off ICS. Will be trained accordingly.
  • Maintains departmental volume reports for open/closed inquiries and turnaround between departments.
  • Requests data according to standing instructions and matches returning data to source documents.
  • Performs pick-up and delivery services between departments/buildings.
  • Handles requests for copies.
  • Inventories stock and orders supplies for department.
  • Performs other miscellaneous clerical functions for department, as assigned.

Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Experience and Skills::
  • One (1) year of general office experience performing similar duties. Keyboard skills of 80 keystrokes per minute with 95 pecent accuracy required. Must have demonstrated oral communication skills, analytical skills to interpret and code information and general math skills.





Support Clerk (Part-Time)

Job Summary:
Performs a variety of clerical duties that requires a wide range of knowledge in standardized work routines. Codes inquiries and inputs control information via the computer into various systems. Date stamps and sorts incoming departmental mail, sorts and stamps outgoing mail, maintains control of stock inventory system, maintains departmental files, handles requests for copies. Supports customer telephone activity by backing up group services lines during peak periods.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assembles files, kits and materials and assembles and distributes expensing materials.
  • Performs advance typing for high level/statistical assignments.
  • Stamps, receives, sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Monitors PC input for accuracy and completeness of information.
  • Performs edit checks on inaccurate data fields.
  • Modifies data fields as appropriate and closes completed inquiries off of system.
  • Enters inquiry control information into the PC, using formatted screen displays.
  • Transmits and receives documents via the facsimile unit communications network and performs back-up and any systems maintenance functions for System 36 and like PC's.
  • Collects and maintains office filing.
  • Orders stock supplies and maintains inventory control.
  • Answers telephone and takes messages/call backs for group service lines during peak periods.
  • Duplicates documents as required in the department.
  • Performs other miscellaneous clerical functions for department as assigned.

Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Experience and Skills::
  • One (1) year of general office experience performing similar duties. Keyboard skills of 80 net keystrokes per minute with 95 percent accuracy required. Must have demonstrated oral communication skills, analytical skills to interpret and code information and general math skills.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures and equipment (PC, typewriter, facsimile machine, calculator, postage machine, copy machine, telephone and answering equipment). Knowledge of accessing and interpretation of membership displays.
