What Is Health Care Fraud?
Examples of health care fraud include:
- Using an expired identification card
- Lending an identification card to someone who is not entitled to it
- Adding someone who is not eligible for coverage to a contract
- Providers billing for services they have not rendered

What Are the Blues Doing to Stop Fraud?
The Blues investigate fraud cases reported to the Anti-Fraud Hot Line and work together with local, state, and federal authorities to bring to justice those who commit health care fraud. Since 1980, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan's health care fraud investigation unit has recovered or saved more than $238 million.
