How do I order specialty drugs?
If your medication is included in the specialty drug guide (PDF) you can:
- Get your prescription drugs delivered to your home by mail ordering them through Option Care, our specialty drug vendor. Download the Specialty Drug Brochure for ordering instructions, or call Option Care at 866-515-1355 to order.
- Fill your prescription at a retail pharmacy. Not all pharmacies will dispense specialty drugs, so call your pharmacy to verify that they will fill your prescription.
- If filling your prescription at a retail pharmacy outside of Michigan, you must make sure the pharmacy you will be using participates in the out-of-state specialty pharmacy network. To check the pharmacy listing, click the appropriate link below:
- MedImpact out-of-state specialty pharmacies (PDF) — use this list if your BCBSM ID card says "MedImpact — Pharmacy Benefits Administrator" on the back.
- Medco out-of-state specialty pharmacies (PDF) — use this list if your BCBSM ID card says "Medco — Pharmacy Benefits Administrator" on the back.
