Fraud Alert!
You may receive the attached letter (PDF) with a "check" for several thousand dollars. Caution! If you call the number given in the letter, the person who answers the phone will ask you to send money "to pay the taxes" on a cash prize you won in a sweepstakes. Typically, the check will be for $2,000 to $5,000. The check looks real and has a Bank of America® logo on it.
This is a scam. Do not respond to the letter or call the number given. There was no sweepstakes. There is no cash prize for you to claim.
Remember, if it seems too good to be true, it usually is not true.
