Hospital Association Spring Symposium Hosts Patient Safety Pioneers
On April 14 and 15, the Michigan Health & Hospital Association (MHA) Keystone Center for Patient Safety & Quality (www.MHAKeystoneCenter.org) will host the 2009 MHA Patient Safety and Quality Symposium in Dearborn.

The symposium will feature nationally recognized leaders in patient safety, including James Conway, senior vice president of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, Cambridge, MA; Peter Pronovost, MD, PhD, critical care researcher at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Baltimore, MD; Michael Leonard, MD, physician leader for patient safety at Kaiser Permanente, Denver, CO; and Leonard Marcus, PhD, founding director for the program for health care negotiation and conflict resolution at the Harvard School of Public Health, Boston, MA.

Clinical teams, business leaders and executives will explore ways to continue to stimulate patient care safety and improve outcomes and system innovation in the rapidly changing health care environment.

The collaborative teams for MHA Keystone: Intensive Care Unit, MHA Keystone: Gift of Life, and MHA Keystone: Hospital-Associated Infection will meet during the symposium to continue their work in adopting evidence-based care and improving the culture of patient safety. Further details and registration are available by visiting www.MHA.org and selecting "Events" and clicking on "Event Registration."
