Physician Group Incentive Program (PGIP)
What is an initiative?
A PGIP initiative is a selected program component designed to improve multiple aspects of health care in a variety of different settings. Initiatives are chosen by each physician organization to help facilitate improvement opportunities throughout the health system.
Current initiatives
Current initiatives are organized into four basic categories:
Clinical information technology-focused initiatives
Condition-focused initiatives:
- Cardiac care (New in 2011)
- Chronic kidney disease
- Encouraging evidence-based utilization of hysterectomy (New in 2011)
- Encouraging evidence-based utilization of labor induction (New in 2011)
- Environmental cancer (New in 2011)
- Improve Oncology Practice performance through participation in the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Quality Oncology Practice Initiative™
- Michigan oncology clinical treatment pathways
Core clinical process-focused initiatives:
- Coordination of care*
