Harvard Business Review highlights Collaborative Quality Initiatives as national model
A recent Harvard Business Review article highlighted the benefits and successes of the Collaborative Quality Initiatives program and how it’s been able to engage the health care provider community, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. The authors were Tom Leyden, director of the Value Partnerships program; Michael Englesbe, M.D., professor of surgery at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and director of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan’s Collaborative Quality Initiatives portfolio; and Ryan Howard, M.D., a general surgery resident at the University of Michigan. Next phase of nonclinical, transitional care program began May 1
The second phase of the naviHealth nonclinical, transitional care program became available to Medicare Plus Blue℠ and BCN Advantage℠ members on May 1. The purpose of this next phase of the program is to reduce avoidable inpatient readmissions for members who are discharged directly to their homes from Michigan inpatient facilities.
