Second phase of Provider Secured Services and web-DENIS retirement begins
On Sept. 15, 2022, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network will enter the second phase of retirement for Provider Secured Services and web-DENIS. It will include removal of the Internet Claims Submission Tool and some other applications.

The last day to use these applications on Blue Cross and BCN’s Provider Secured Services is Sept. 14, 2022. For a complete list of applications that are only available on our new provider portal, view Applications removed from Provider Secured Services.

Blue Cross, BCN add new virtual option for behavioral health care

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network have contracted with AbleTo, an independent company with a network of more than 2,000 therapists serving adults 18 and older, to offer virtual mental health services in all 50 states.

This option is available for members with Blue Cross commercial, Medicare Plus Blue℠, BCN commercial and BCN Advantage℠ coverage.

Update: Crisis services provide support for members with urgent behavioral health concerns

Since we last wrote about our crisis services in this newsletter, a new facility joined our program: Pine Rest, located in Grand Rapids. Blue Cross and BCN’s mobile crisis and crisis stabilization services help members experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis get prompt and appropriate behavioral health treatment. The program is for our commercial members who are under age 65.

More Medicare Advantage members to become eligible for Landmark Health’s in-home care program

Starting Jan. 1, 2023, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network will expand the high-intensity, in-home care program provided by Landmark Health, an independent company, to include Medicare Advantage members who have multiple chronic conditions and reside in any county in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula.
