In brief: Colorectal cancer screening, cardiac care and Find a Doctor search feature
March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month In mid-March, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is reaching out to members who are due for a colorectal cancer screening. We’re encouraging them to contact their primary care provider to discuss getting screened and schedule an appointment. You may get additional appointment requests in the next couple of months as a result.
Program recognizes facilities for demonstrating quality cardiac care Blue Distinction® Centers for Cardiac Care — part of the Blue Distinction Specialty Care program* — was recently refreshed. The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association re-evaluates each of its 11 existing BDC programs every two to three years and updates designation criteria as necessary. CoCM providers can now be found using Find a Doctor search tool Health care providers who have received designation in our Collaborative Care Model program were recently added to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan’s Find a Doctor search feature. This means that our members can more easily locate a provider who delivers Collaborative Care in their practice.
