Encourage your staff to register for Blue Cross’ virtual workshop: Inclusive care for LGBTQ+ older adults Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is partnering with Michigan LGBTQ+ Elders Network, or MiGEN, to present a two-part virtual workshop designed to explore the LGBTQ+ patient population through an aging lens. Part 1 is on Jan. 31, 2024, from noon to 12:45 p.m. and focused on foundational concepts regarding the LGBTQ+ older adult population. Part 2 is on Feb. 6, 2024, from noon to 12:45 p.m. Participants will learn practical ways to make their medical practice feel like a safer space for the LGBTQ+ population. If they can’t attend, recordings will be available on demand at the Patient Experience site after the live sessions. The workshop meets the following requirements:
Physicians who attend can receive continuing medical education, or CME, credits, and continuing education credit is available for medical assistants, social workers and nurses.
