We have patient resources available to address mental health needs Millions of people experience depression, anxiety or other mental health concerns each year. One in five American adults experienced mental illness in 2021, with one in 20 experiencing a serious mental illness, according to the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is committed to supporting our members who are dealing with mental health conditions or substance use disorder. That’s why Blue Cross and Blue Care Network health plans include behavioral health benefits and resources, including in-person and virtual options. Members can also explore flexible and comprehensive digital self-guided support programs to help manage stress, sleep, depression and more. We encourage you to direct your patients who are Blue Cross members to these resources. Members can find benefits available through their specific health plan by logging in to their Blue Cross member account at bcbsm.com, or through our mobile app, and visiting the Behavioral Health Support page under Find Care. The body and mind are connected, and care should be too. To make sure your patients dealing with mental health conditions have a cohesive care plan, be sure to connect with their other providers to coordinate care.
