In brief: Oncology Value Management program; Homeward program; NASCO migration; watch for fraud OncoHealth manages our Oncology Value Management program As a reminder, on Jan. 1, 2025, OncoHealth began managing authorizations for oncology and supportive care drugs for most Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan commercial and Blue Care Network commercial members and all Medicare Plus Blue℠ and BCN Advantage℠ members through the Oncology Value Management program. Blue Cross works with Homeward to expand access to care for Medicare Advantage members in Upper, Northern Lower Peninsulas Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan announced an expansion of its partnership with Homeward®, a comprehensive rural health care platform, that will benefit Medicare Advantage members in 48 counties in Michigan’s Upper and Northern Lower Peninsulas. Blue Cross and Homeward will work together to reduce common access barriers by connecting seniors to essential services through Homeward Navigation™ that will improve their health and quality of life. “Seniors living in rural areas across Michigan face unique challenges when it comes to accessing health care,” said Krischa Winright, president of Medicare Advantage at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. “At Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, we are committed to helping seniors access high quality, affordable health care, and through this partnership we are offering an innovative solution to address and eliminate barriers to consistent care.” For more information, see the February 2025 Record article “Homeward Health now available to additional Medicare Advantage members.” Reminder: Medicare Plus Blue migrated individual, some group membership from ikaSystems to NASCO On Jan. 1, 2025, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan completed the transition of its billing and claims processing for Medicare Plus Blue℠ individual plans and 165 national Michigan group plans from ikaSystems to the NASCO platform. Affected members have received new member ID cards that must be used in claims submission as part of this process. Please scan their new member ID cards to be sure claims will be routed correctly. Practice caution with requests for patient information Our Corporate and Financial Investigations Unit has been made aware of provider offices receiving fraudulent requests for patient information, provider NPI numbers and provider signatures. See below for some recent examples. These requests, which may come to you by standard mail, email or fax, often include clues that indicate they are not legitimate.
