Seeing more patients with Medicare? You aren’t alone.
The demand for Medicare Advantage products is greatly increasing as the baby boomer generation reaches Medicare-eligible age. And new changes to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network’s Medicare Advantage offerings give Michigan seniors more robust dental benefits than ever before. These enhancements include 100% coverage in-network for services such as crowns, crown repairs, root canals and oral surgery. A $1,500 annual maximum was also added to our Medicare Advantage dental plans.
To support the influx of new Medicare-eligible individuals, here are some tips on how to best serve this population of patients:
Address accessibility: Check if your practice has adequate space for patients with mobility issues. Consider purchasing pillows, bolsters and blankets to ensure your patients are seated comfortably while receiving care.
Allocate more time: Consider allotting 15 additional minutes per appointment to allow time for patients to discuss their medication history with you and get their questions answered.
Help with scheduling appointments: Assist with scheduling and provide reminder phone calls and postcards for appointments.
Join our network: By becoming part of the DenteMax Medicare Advantage network, you’ll be in-network for patients with Blue Cross and BCN Medicare Advantage plans. Contact your network administrator to learn how to join.
