No application necessary for behavioral health specialties to join BlueHPN
The Blue High Performance Network℠, also called BlueHPN, will no longer require behavioral health specialties to apply for the network to keep their active status as of Jan.1, 2024.
To support adequate access to behavioral health, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan will use the TRUST PPO or Traditional behavioral health network to support BlueHPN to ensure inclusivity to members who need these services. By removing the application process for this specialty, it allows BlueHPN members to choose from a broader range of in-network providers for behavioral health services, while increasing access to care.
Behavioral health providers who are part of the BlueHPN must at a minimum:
- Be in one of the following counties to provide services to Blue Cross members: Genesee, Macomb, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw and Wayne.
- Meet all Blue Cross credentialing and privileging standards, and be in good standing in the TRUST PPO or Traditional network.
- Agree to achieve and maintain quality performance measures as illustrated in the Request for Applications.
