How Medicare supplement plans work
Medicare supplement plans pay most of the costs you share with Original Medicare. They can help fill in the coverage gap, so you'll have fewer unexpected costs. You'll also get extra benefits, like nationwide coverage for when you travel. And you won't need any referrals to see specialists.
Keep in mind Medicare supplement plans don't include prescription drug coverage or routine dental, vision or hearing coverage.

Enhance your plan with dental, vision and hearing coverage
For $29.50 a month you can add dental, vision and hearing coverage to your Medicare supplement plan. This package is available to all Blue Cross Medicare Supplement members. It gives you:
- $0 in-network dental exams, cleanings, X-rays and fluoride treatments
- In-network vision coverage that includes standard lenses every 12 months
- One $0 hearing exam every 12 months and savings of up to 60% off average retail hearing aid prices at a TruHearing® provider
Current Blue Cross Medicare Supplement and Legacy Medigap members can choose to enroll in the Dental Vision Hearing Package between Feb. 1 and April 30 of each year. Read our help page to learn more.
