Become a health insurance agent and contract with Blue Cross through these simple steps.

Step 1: Licensing

Get licensed with Accident and Health qualifications in the state of Michigan. The State of Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services website has information about obtaining a license.

Apply for your license

Step 2: Training

The training process generates email messages that contain your user ID, password, 5-digit agent number and a link to the onboarding application process. Once you complete new agent contracting training, keep a copy of your certificate of completion. You will need to upload it to the education tab during the onboarding process.

Start your training

For help with contracting training, email the Sales & Development Team.

Step 3: Onboarding

Start the agent onboarding process using personal credentials and your National Producer Number, or NPN.

Initiate your onboarding

For help with onboarding, email the Agent Contracting and Maintenance Team.

Step 4: Access

Once you've completed onboarding, you'll receive an email within 12 hours that will prompt you to register for the Agent Portal. If you need further assistance, call the Web Support Helpdesk at 1-877-258-3932.

The Agent Portal is designed to meet you where you’re at in your process - giving you access to Blue Cross and Blue Care Network product information and tools that help you deliver a better, more personalized experience to your clients.
