Virtual Second Opinions from 2nd.MD
This Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network solution offers your employees easy access to virtual second opinions when they are considering procedures, treatments or medications. It's available to self-funded groups with 300 employees or more.
Why get a second opinion?

This program is provided at no cost to your employees and their eligible dependents enrolled in a health care plan that offers this benefit.

How does it work?
Once your employees or their eligible dependents activate their 2nd.MD account by phone or through the mobile app, they can request a consultation.
They will speak with a nurse to see if a second opinion is right for them. The program handles the rest, including gathering their medical records, finding the right specialist and setting up a virtual care video consultation.
They will then be able get personalized advice about their diagnosis and treatment plan from a specialist. Virtual visits are available when it’s convenient for your employees, including nights and weekends.
