Blue Cross Employee Assistance ProgramSM

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network supports employees and their families through personal and workplace challenges with this comprehensive program.

Why it matters

  1. Mental health care is difficult to access due to social stigma, cost and lack of providers.
  2. Work and finances are some of the top causes of employee stress.
  3. Employees who receive support are more likely to work effectively.

How it works

Sometimes, employees face problems that can affect their personal and work life. Our confidential Blue Cross Employee Assistance Program or EAP provides services to help overcome these challenges with:

  • Mobile emotional support 24/7
  • In-person or virtual therapy
  • Virtual behavioral coaching
  • On-demand self-care tools
  • Financial and legal counseling

This program is available at no cost to all employees and their dependents regardless of coverage or residency. All Blue Cross EAP behavioral health providers will also be in the Blue Cross network.

How is our EAP different?

Our Blue Cross EAP offers features not included by stand-alone vendors. By customizing our network of providers, we're able to create uninterrupted care. Which means your employees can continue seeing the same behavioral health provider for a seamless transition to their behavioral health benefits.

  • One-on-one personal support at the moment of need
  • Single point of entry with immediate, 24/7 phone access

Additional offerings

The Blue Cross EAP program also includes optional add-ons to better address your employees’ whole health needs.

WorkLife services

WorkLife provides services that help employees handle what life throws at them, which helps employers through reduced absenteeism and increased productivity. WorkLife offers unlimited, 24/7 direct access to experts for a broad spectrum of pre-screened and qualified convenience resources.

Critical incident response + training

Critical incident services help managers and employees address life, health and workplace challenges. These sessions are presented in-person or virtually and include a specialized crisis team, available 24/7 by phone.
