How We Handle Overpayments by Members

This information is for members who have overpaid for their Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan coverage. Overpayments are credited automatically, unless you request a refund.

If you have active coverage with us, all overpayments will automatically apply toward your next bill as a credit.

To receive a refund instead, call the customer service number on the back of your member ID card. Our customer service representative can explain the status of your account and issue a refund if appropriate.

If you no longer have active coverage with us, all overpayments will automatically be sent to the mailing address on your account as a refund.
